# The Moose Bay

> The Moose Bay (https://www.themoosebay.com) is a Turkish multi-brand outdoor and lifestyle
> retailer: footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories for men, women and kids from external
> brands, roughly 4,300 products. Prices are in Turkish Lira and include VAT, delivery is within
> Türkiye, and the store is published in Turkish only. This file is the agent-facing index of the
> storefront; the canonical, complete instructions are at https://www.themoosebay.com/agents.md.

**Read the page, not the DOM.** Every page response carries three layers at once: rendered HTML,
schema.org JSON-LD, and the full server data in
`<script id="__NEXT_DATA__" type="application/json">` under `props.pageProps`. One GET answers most
questions — no separate public API exists or is needed. JSON-LD is the stable contract; the payload
is a rich but unversioned supplement whose field names can change with any release, so guard every
field access.

**Route each question to its surface:**

- Product search or comparison → a category listing page. Its `productList` payload carries 24
cards per page with price and per-size stock, plus a `docCount` per gender, product type, product
kind, colour, size and **brand** facet — one request answers "how many Crocs in 30-31" without
opening product pages. This is the richest facet tree of the sibling storefronts, so prefer
counting from `docCount` over reading cards.
- Brand questions → the `Marka` facet on any listing, or the brand landing pages: `/markalar` is
the index and each brand is `/markalar-{brand-slug}`, e.g. `/markalar-herschel`. Because this is
  a multi-brand retailer, `brandName` and `brandSlug` on every card are load-bearing fields.
- Search → `?searchValue={query}`, which works both on `/tum-urunler` (the whole catalogue, the
target the home page's `WebSite` JSON-LD declares) and on a category URL to narrow within it. A
query with no matches omits `productList` entirely — absence means zero results, not an error.
- Size or variant availability → the product page, `variants[].quantity`. Never the JSON-LD
`availability` flag, which is product-level and unreliable on this platform.
- Price and discount → `price.newPrice`, `oldPrice`, `percent`. Every displayed price already
includes VAT — never add tax on top.
- Ratings → not usable on this store. Every listing card sampled reported `totalReviews: 0`; a 0
average means no reviews exist, not a bad product.
- Purchasable right now? → `addToBasketDisabled` must be false and the specific variant's
  `quantity` above zero.
- Delivery, returns, payment → the policy links below. Shipping is free on every order here, and
the FAQ's return window (14 days online) differs from its in-store exchange window (30 days).

**URL grammar.** Product pages are `/{slug}-p-{variantId}` — the number after the last `-p-` is the
only identifier the page needs, so a product stays reachable when its slug changes; an unknown id
returns 404. Category listings are `/{category-slug}`, taken from the categories sitemap. Listings
accept `?pageIndex={n}`, **0-based**: no parameter and `?pageIndex=0` both return the first page.
Sort with `?orderingItems=` using one of the six values the payload lists in `orderingItems`,
including `price.oldNewPriceRate desc` for deepest-discount-first. Price-range parameters never
reach the server: for "under ₺X", sort ascending by price and stop reading when `price.newPrice`
passes the ceiling. Every page declares `rel="canonical"`; listing pages do not emit
`rel="prev"`/`rel="next"`, so page through `products.hasNextPage`.

**Hard rules.** `/robots.txt` is the authoritative crawl policy and it is stricter than this file:
account, basket and checkout paths are closed, and so is any URL containing `searchValue`,
`ordering`, `category`, `defaultMinPrice`, `defaultMaxPrice`, `script` or `ref=`. Those parameters
do work server-side, but they are disallowed for crawling — reach the catalogue through the
sitemaps and the plain category URLs, and filter client-side from the payload instead of generating
parameter combinations. Keep to roughly one request per second and back off on 429 and 503. Never
cache prices or stock. `/api/*` serves the storefront's own pages, has no public contract, and
returns nothing the page response lacks.
